A few people have asked the difference between handmade soaps and the regular commercial kind…I call it commercial detergent because that’s just what it is …detergent! Commercial store bought soaps are made from harsh chemicals, which are designed to strip your skin of it’s natural oils, leaving you with that squeaky-clean feeling.

Handcrafted soaps on the other hand are God’s gift to us…you want beautiful skin…mother nature is offering you all she has to offer. The beauty industry goes through fads, but the essence of nature has stayed the same! Cleopatra’s beauty secret was bathing in milk, African women have used coconut oil to protect their skin from the harsh sun rays and keep it supple, Asian women have used rice to keep their skin white and flawless for centuries! Our handcrafted soaps explore age old beauty-secrets and incorporate them into our products to help you achieve your dream of gorgeous skin!

Handcrafted soaps contain glycerin which is a natural by-product of soap making. Glycerin is a natural emollient which attracts water from the air thereby keeping your skin moisturised throughout the day. Commercial soaps on the other hand, have had all the glycerin removed and used in other products (instead of buying one product that cleans and moisturises, you now have to buy 2!)

Commercial soaps also contain chemical fillers such as Sodium Laureate Sulphate (Foam enhancer) and a host of other chemicals. Handcrafted soap on the other hand is made with all natural oils and butters that are skilfully combined to achieve a desired effect. You hear of all the wonderful skin benefits of Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil… well you get all these benefits when using handcrafted soaps…because that’s honestly all that goes into it!
